We were honoured to welcome Deputy Finance Minister Ashor Sarupen in our office and to share recent research recommendations on intergovernmental financial relations and how we can bolster financial sustainability of municipalities.

The Deputy Minister was leading a discussion where valuable insights were shared by our partners Prof Tania Ajam from the School of Public Leadership at Stellenbosch University, and Dr Johandri Wright from the Dullah Omar Institute at the University of the Western Cape.

The Hanns Seidel Seidel Foundation has been supporting research on facilitating and enhancing the effective functioning of Municipalities.
