Deutschlandfest in Pretoria
Germany Meets Mzansi
Many visitors from all walks of life were keen to find out more about our partner work
HSF
Visitors could enjoy the many exhibitors and an amazing program - music, business, sports, arts, science, language studies and culture were well represented. About 600 German companies are active in South Africa, with about 100 000 jobs being created directly by them, and important skills transfer taking place.
We were happy to experience a lot of interest in our activities and partner work at our HSF stand! Many different people from all walks of life in South Africa and Germany were keen to find out more about our work, and to receive reports and other materials. It was a great opportunity for many good conversations as well!
Keen interest in our Forum Corner Talk with Dr Jakkie Cilliers about the new African Futures report on South Africa
HSF
At our stand, we shared information about the work of our Civics Academy, and of partners like the Desmond and Leah Tutu Legacy Foundation, the Dullah Omar Institute, the In Transformation Initiative and the Justice and Violence Prevention Program at the Institute for Security Studies (ISS), yo name but a few.
In the Forum Corner, political foundations offered talks throughout the day. Our event on "The future of South Africa - long-term scenarios and development potential" was well attended. Dr Jakkie Cilliers, Head of the African Futures and Innovation Program at the ISS, presented key insights from his team's latest report, followed by an engaging discussion with the audience.
