The large audience at this event included multidisciplinary experts from many countries. The seminar was the first in the 4-part series "Forecasting African futures: empowering African Union (AU) member states" co-hosted by African Futures and Innovation and AUDA-NEPAD. 

Dr. Jakkie Cilliers' presentation on key insights of the "Africa in the World" report was followed by input from two experienced respondents:

  • Koffi Kouakou, Senior Research Fellow, Centre for Africa China Studies, University of Johannesburg
  • Dr Kennedy Mbeva, Research Associate, Centre for the Study of Existential Risk, University of Cambridge

The very engaging discussion was facilitated by Abdel-Nasser Daoud Kinefour, Senior Programme Officer: Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, AUDA-NEPAD.
