Serious potential implications of proposed new legislation
The authors of the report which was published by the Scalabrini Institute for Human Mobility in Africa (SIHMA) with the support of the Hanns Seidel Foundation introduced key findings of their research on the potential impact of the amendments to the Refugee Act. The act’s curtailments on asylum seekers’ right to work would have many possible social, political & economic ramifications. The launch of the report comes at a time where draft regulations have been published for public comments.
