A longstanding successful partnership

The visit by MEC Anton Bredell marks 30 years of cooperation with Bavaria and prepares for a Regional Leaders Summit in November. The meeting with Dr. Susanne Luther, Director of the Institute for International Cooperation of the Hanns Seidel Foundation, offered the opportunity for lively conversations. Recent and upcoming activities in our partnership projects, as well as current developments in Bavaria and the Western Cape, were discussed in a productive exchange.

An inspiring startup hub

Minister Bredell and his team also visited the startup hub UnternehmerTUM, where the focus was on how innovation and entrepreneurship can drive impact and development. Special emphasis was placed on public-private partnerships, university spin-offs, and AI adoption in government services.

Public service education and training

A visit at the Bavarian School of Public Administration explored how a practice-oriented dual training model could help to further modernise and professionalise Western Cape public administration. HSF has supported local government capacity building and research since 2012.
