This was the topic of this year's edition of the Annual International Munich Federalism Days. Over 100 participants from 30 countries came together in Munich, Bavaria, and at Kloster Banz nearby for productive sessions at the conference.

Annual conference co-hosted by HSF with international partners

Parliamentarians and representatives of politics, academia, administration and civil society from diverse backgronds participated in multidisciplinary discussions on facilitating good governance and democracy in federal and decentralised structures. 

The South African delegation included renowned academics and experienced practitioners. Colin Deiner, Marvin Charles, Prof Tinashe Chigwata and Prof Nico Steytler actively contributed to great sessions, speaking on topics related to crisis management, disaster resilience through partnerships, improving cooperation between spheres of government and facilitating good governance in coalitions.
