Puppet Show at the Desmond and Leah Tutu Legacy Foundation
"Desmond's World" delights children

Learners from Manenberg Primary School enjoyed the Tutu Tots Puppet Show “Desmond’s World”, based on a children’s book by the legendary Archbishop - learning about values and virtues and about dealing with bullies as well.

There was great excitement and fun at the Desmond & Leah Tutu Legacy Foundation as the young learners from Manenberg followed the story of the puppet show developed for children aged 4 to 8, based on Archbishop Tutu’s book, “Desmond and the Very Mean Word”.

With its engaging story, the show brings important virtues to live for the children - courage, compassion, and forgiveness, to name but a few. With this creative, nurturing approach, the project also facilitates socio-emotional learning.

The Desmond and Leah Tutu Legacy Foundation is inviting Early Childhood Development (ECD) Centers and primary schools in Cape Town to visit, for their children to enjoy this show and benefit from experiencing this very special outing to a safe and historic space.

We’re honoured to support this creative initiative for young children, helping them to become compassionate and responsive citizens as well.

We are grateful to the Parliament of the Western Cape partner province Bavaria for their funding and support!
