Harnessing the benefits of a SADC Standby Force in Mozambique

What are the prospects and options for the Southern African Development Community's Standby Force in Mozambique? Questions on this important topic were discussed with experts from Mozambique and South Africa at a seminar co-hosted with the Institute for Security Studies and News24.

In response to the four-year insurgency in Cabo Delgado, Southern African leaders agreed in June 2021 to deploy a Standby Force of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) in Mozambique. This seminar was co-hosted by the HSF, the Institute for Security Studies and News24; it discussed prospects and options for SADC’s forces in the area.
