The workshop focused on improving cooperation between police and prosecutors to bring complex corruption cases (especially State Capture/Zondo Commission) to prosecution in a timely and successful manner. A good mixture of contributions from the Bavarian experts as well as the management level of NPA and DPCI and intensive small group work ensured that, based on the exchange of experiences, the South African approach could be discussed and jointly further developed.

The Bavarian experts came from the Public Prosecutor's Office and the Bavarian State Criminal Police Office.

The leadership of the NPA and DPCI reaffirmed the commitment of the two agencies to work closely together at all levels to investigate and prosecute complex corruption cases in South Africa. Further joint workshops and exchange of experiences with colleagues from Germany are planned.
