Youth participation in development cooperation

Around 150 high school students from Bavaria were invited and participated in different workshops at the event. The day gave students insights into projects of the Hanns Seidel Foundation, and the Civics Academy workshop provided a practical example of how civic education can promote youth participation and contribute to deepen democracy. The role of youth in successful development cooperation was an important dimension the engagements focussed on as well.

Multi-party panel discussion and a market place

A panel discussion with spokespeople on development cooperation from different parties allowed for critical reflection. The event also included a so called Open Market Place where different organizations showcased their work and development initiatives. This provided a diverse and colourful display of the many different ways in which people can engage in fair and sustainable trade and exchange and development initiatives.
