Training for Early Childhood Development Forums
Jubilation at Graduation

We saw great joy and resolve at the Nelson Mandela Foundation last week, at the ECD Forum Leadership Training Graduation! South Africa's First Lady Dr. Tshepo Motsepe joined the event to hand over certificates to Early Childhood Development practitioners from many Forums in Gauteng.

Making a difference where it matters

Participants had completed the pilot program of 4 training modules over 18 days at the Nelson Mandela Foundation recently.

Graduates shared how the course helps them to become catalysts of change in their communities.

The training program conceptualized for this new pilot project will be published to facilitate wider use.

At the ceremony, prizes were awarded to winning ECD Forums as well: in a competition, Forums had proposed projects they'd want to implement, also applying some of their new skills - among them food gardens and a parent capacity building initiative. The Forums will receive some financial assistance, and they'll have the opportunity to discuss their concepts further with experienced consultants.

We have supported the Nelson Mandela Foundation's strategic work on Early Childhood Development for several years.

Cooperating with the public and private sector, it aims to improve the lives of children and communities.
