Under that title, a Violence Prevention School Safety Training has just taken place with children at one of the Cape Town schools in hot spot areas identified for this project with the Department of Education.

The City of Cape Town Law Enforcement's School Ressource Officers who facilitated the interactive training had participated in a refresher course earlier this year, after having completed their own extensive train-the-trainer course and initial workshops in Cape Town pilot schools in 2023.

The Youth Energy Safety YES SA! Training Manual used in the workshops had been developed based on a violence prevention module from Bavaria (Germany), thoroughly adapted to the specific South African context.

It is the outcome of an intensive consultation process with diverse relevant South African stakeholders over many months.
