An orientation workshop on hotspot policing has just taken place in Cape Town.

The Hotspot Policing Orientation Workshop marks the expansion of evidence-based hotspot policing to 15 additional City of Cape Town police stations — bringing the total rollout to 30 stations across the Western Cape in 2026. 

The collaborative project has shown encouraging results during its pilot phase. 

It has been carried out together with the Institute of Security Studies, with support from the HSF and the Bavarian State Chancellery.
