People standing: The engaging spakers at the seminar

The engaging spakers at the seminar

HSF

This was one of the key questions at a seminar co-hosted with our African Futures & Innovation partner team at the Institute for Security Studies (ISS).

Practical and visionary approaches to addressing longstanding, stark problems and complex crises were discussed in frank, thoughtful debates at the ISS in Pretoria and online.

Transparency and effective accountability must be drivers of performance, partnerships must grow - and relationships must be developed, across party lines as well. Leadership and tackling crime are crucial for all development.

We were grateful to our excellent speakers Prof Geci Karuri-Sebina, Wits School of Governance, Prof Edgar Pieterse, African Centre for Cities, Elsona van Huyssteen, CSIR, Dhesigen Naidoo, Institute for Security Studies, Moderator Pete Ahmad and Dr Jakkie Cilliers, Head of African Futures & Innovation at the ISS.
